Yumeria

Yumeria is EPIC. Such a great cast of characters, plot elements that are not pervy in the slightest degree, not to mention its epic soundtrack featuring its opening, Guren no Yumeria and of course the character of Mone inspired song Mony Mony done by the legend Billy Idol himself.

Oh, wait...

I think I must have been mistaken.

Yumeria is an anime adapted from a visual novel released by Namco in 2003. In 2004 an anime was released, while the game enjoyed lukewarm success and received mixed reviews internationally, being considered a flop for Namco, especially in an age when visual novels had inundated the video game market. Despite this, Yumeria was still an active franchise until around 2010, continually seeing lukewarm success after lukewarm succes. So what does this anime have in store for the common viewer? Not much really.

Yumeria tells the story of Tomokazu Mikuri, a 16 year-old virgin (as if that is anything special) who lives a relatively average life in high school. One night, he has a dream where he enters a fantasy realm, where a girl s fighting a robot/beast thingy (I do not know, nothing has been explained yet). She is hit by one of the monsters attacks, whereby Tomokazu catches her and that is when the dream ends. Mikuri wakes up that morning to find that the girl from the dream is right next to him... in his bed. Yes, it is going to be one of those anime.
